Capillary Action

After Paul Klee

The pink is gradually coalescing

Into a heart that is a hearty red

And all the black that was along the edging

Has now but all from view completely fled;

It fills each crack that's being left behind

By seeping deep into the open gaps,

Then like a glue it serves to strongly bind

Together all the different little scraps

Into a shape, that like before, is cordate

But now is stronger than it was before

Beause compared to it in its first state

It has, since then, been through a whole lot more,

And like a gusset onto wood that's screwed

Will never start to break or come unglued.
